Tiger Barbs

Post by celticwraith on Fri Feb 15, 2008 11:33 pm

I had 3 tiger barbs that at first where real active then over time, starting one at a time they were always pointed to the bottom of the tank. I got them when they where 1/2 inch in length and they got as big as an inch, but over a span of 6 months they all died 1 at a time. What I was wondering was do they alway point down to the bottom or do you think it was from they being week.

I had found tiger barbs to be tough and able to take alot. Was they in with other fish or was they by themselfs. Because it sound to be like they may of been a problem with the water. But i am not sure because i do not have much infor about your tank.

My water was perfect, ammonia, nitrites at 0 and nitrates where at perfect readings. I had them in a 29 gallon community tank. They always ate and never as far as I seen were bothered by other fish. I haven't had these fish for some time now. I was just curiuse if anyone had ever seen that swimming behavior. I have read that thay are tough fish, I may have just had that rare bad luck with them. I had no other fish
lose in that.

There are so much that can go wrong, that sometimes it can be hard to figured out. I had always found that tiger barbs like to fight. Most peoples that come to my shop will not buy them because of that.
